   This is the third set of chairs I own from this company (which goes by several names). The first two are different models of bar stools, and like those, these chairs are very well made. The stitching is solid. The material and metals are great quality. They’re sturdy and easy to put together thanks to simple assembly (12 screws per chair for these) and clear instructions. They’re also durable. The powder coat on these chairs is particularly good. I accidentally hit the legs several times with sharp tools while assembling, thanks completely to my clumsiness, and they didn’t show any sign they’d been touched. I like these chairs a lot, but unlike my stools, these need some improvements that drop my rating a star. 1. The feet are self-leveling, which is great, but the levelers are made from hard plastic, which will scuff my wood floors. I can fix that with felt rounds, but I wish the company had chosen something more wood friendly (like the silicone they use for the stools). 2. My stools are extremely comfortable, well-cushioned and contoured with soft material, so I expected these to be too. They’re not. The material, while it’s good quality and looks nice, is on the rougher side, and the padding is dense to the point where it’s uncomfortable for extended periods. These are being used as kids’ chairs in my dining room, so they won’t be used long enough for my kids to notice, but adults will notice fairly quickly. The back contributes to this discomfort as the back is short, and its angle pitches more than typical for a chair intended for extended seating. 3. The chairs are oddly difficult to move while being used, which makes them less than ideal for any situation where someone will be getting up or moving around regularly. I knew when ordering these that they didn’t have wheels, so I didn’t expect fluid mobility, but I also didn’t expect them to be trickier to move than my heavy wood dining chairs. Overall, these are well-made, sturdy, good-looking chairs and worth getting for short-duration uses — such as in a guest room or as dining chairs for lighter people who don’t get up often. For office chairs, which is their recommended use, or for extended sitting, these aren’t the chairs to purchase. 3.5 stars rounded up.

   These are cute chairs for a good price. Overall, they could work well in certain settings, and they’re attractive, although a little cheap looking if you look close. The parts do not go together very well because the holes and screws do not line up, very typical of this kind of furniture that’s cheaply made. The other two downsides are: the angle that the back of the chairs slopes at makes it a non-option for a desk chair. It leans back too far. So it’s good for sitting on briefly. We have the chairs in our game room for when people want to watch others play ping-pong. Other downside: bad smell from chemicals used in manufacturing. I would definitely not recommend these chairs due to the fact that unhealthy chemicals are used in processing, but also because they’re not comfortable to lean back against.
