I’m totally happy with this purchase. I was thinking of getting a gaming chair, but I’m so glad I got this. It has to be the easiest assembly ever; the hardest part is just opening the box. For me, it was comfortable right away, but I have noticed slight muscle aches towards the end of the day, but I’m pretty sure it’s because it’s forcing me to correct my posture. My wife got one as well and she’s loving it.

It seems well made, and looks good, BUT I can’t sit for more than 10 minutes as my legs go numb from the pressure of the seat. I end up standing mostly, sitting back for a sec, standing again. I was hoping for something I could sit on in a high position, somewhere between standing and sitting in a regular chair. My legs get tired standing and working for extended periods of time. I just ordered a different chair. I wish I had kept the packaging and returned it. Too expensive for how uncomfortable the seat is.

I’m over 6 feet tall and needed a better sitting option. This was recommended by a physical therapist. I have Ehlers Danlos and have trouble staying on my sit bones – even with this stool. It’s been over a month and I still have the inclination to put my feet up on a low table. It was difficult to sit on for more than a few minutes at first. Even in a tripod position, it is difficult to keep my back straight. I think this may be good for me in the long run, but will take a lot more training to get used to it. Extremely expensive. I wonder if I should have put the money towards a body braid instead (also extremely expensive).

Just as I remembered my mother’s Varier. To address complaints over the cushion being uncomfortable, this is not a traditional chair; you’re supposed to sit on an angle, hence the raised corners. Guess the French name “assis debout” (sit up) is most accurate for it. Regardless, price wise this was unbeatable, as that chair retails for 600$ going up anywhere else, yet the grey one I got was bought at 380$ PLUS it came with the anti slip mat (super hard to put on properly, but makes it impossible to slip, literally). Overall I’m extremely pleased, plus it came with the 5-7 years warranty (depending on the parts).

I have a hard time assessing the comfort of this stool. It’s definitely not as comfortable as being in my desk chair and because of the saddle shape, it puts pressure on sensitive areas that I am not used to sitting on. However, the seat cushion itself is good quality and padded. If I rotate it and sit on my tush, it feels quite comfortable. I bought it so that I would not just sit on my tush all day and it’s great for that.. It keeps me moving around and changing positions while I stand. If you are looking for a stool to sit on all day, I would not recommend this one. It is for occasional leaning, and it works great for that.

The stool has two basic seating positions, with a point forward or with a flat edge forward. For me, each is less comfortable than the other. My wife liked it at first but her thighs soon started to complain as well.
Also, this is the first piece of furniture I’ve ever seen that is and must stay dirty. The chromed post is greasy yet the instructions say, “Wiping off the lubricant…can cause malfunction.” On top of this, the fabric attracts hairs and holds onto them.
We have a houseful of Varier chairs that are remarkably comfortable for almost everybody. This stool is in their league only by virtue of its outlandish price.
We returned Varier’s stool and purchased instead a pair of wobble stools made by Uncaged Ergonomics, their model with with round seats. The Uncaged stools are more cheaply made–they ought to be, since they cost less than half as much–but they adjust and wobble comparably, and both of us find them reasonably comfortable to sit on.

Amazing chair and amazing service from Furniture For Life. Both are 5 stars!
In terms of the chair, I love it! It keeps me very mindful of my sitting posture while working at my desk, which I do for many hours every day. I move and stretch in different ways to open up my hips and stretch my back and leg muscles. I switch back and forth from the seated and standing positions which is something that makes this chair better than any other I’ve ever owned. It will take some getting used to. My tail end was sore after the first day of use but only for a day or so and it can take some effort to keep your back straight but I’m pretty sure that’s the point and it gets easier the more you use the chair. I can already feel an improvement in my lower back and hip stiffness.
In terms of the seller’s service, chaircoverny.com shipped the wrong color chair from their warehouse but the seller fixed it immediately! Excellent communication and even a follow up later to make sure everything was as it should be. I would recommend buying from them without hesitation.
